Breaking News - Hermès and Gaultier Part Ways
French luxury goods company Hermès International said Wednesday that designer Jean-Paul Gaultier is leaving the company after seven years, during which he supervised women's ready-to-wear operations for the company.
It said Hermès and Mr. Gaultier "have decided to bring to an end to their collaboration, allowing Jean-Paul Gaultier to concentrate on his own projects." Christophe Lemaire will be appointed artistic director of Hermès women's ready-to-wear beginning with the fall-winter 2011 collection, Hermès said.
The company said the spring-summer 2011 ready-to-wear collection to be revealed in October will be the last created by Mr. Gaultier for Hermès.

Magazine Strap by Porter
Monocle and Porter are at it again, this time with some help from BEAMS’ B YOSHIDA, to create canvas magazine strap. The accessory looks to help folks keep their books or mags neatly packed together during their commute to wherever they’re heading. As the magazine industry’s not-so-slow and slightly-painful death nears, Monocle hopes to continue their success, and we think this item’s meant to be more symbolic than anything.
